...and what better to share than some of the blogs that have kept me entertained in the past few months. You might have heard of them, you might not have. Anyway, here they are:
denimblog.
All things denim, and jeans. Celebs wearing jeans. If like me you love your jeans and celebs in said jeans the you'll love this. I love the reviews too. Informative. Except the jeans are quite expensive but handy to know about them.
Sincerely Jules.
I might've mentioned this one before. This is super stylish LA girl Jules who flits from city to city with great outfits and the coolest little knuckle rings. Great.
Barefoot Blonde.
Tales of Amber and her new husband David. Mostly Amber style and beauty stories though. Really nice blog.
Thank FiFi
Brilliant and affordable street on the streets of Glasgow with Wendy Gilmour. Peeks inside hotel rooms, London fashion week snippets and pictures that contain her dog! Great blog.
James Vs Burger
Tales of James and his partners adventures to find great food, mainly burgers, around Glasgow and beyond. My mouth waters every time i read one of his reviews.
You are my wild
You remember my all time favourite blog and blogger ever, Ryan Marshall from Pacing The Panic Room? well he stopped blogging back in July last year (HUGE SAD FACE) but he still Instagram's and give updates on there. But he's also pointed us in the direction of this place, You are my wild. It's a weekly blog of how 14 photographers see their children. Of course Ryan contributes to it. He's a great photographer. It's beautiful. Have a look.
Okay that's enough sharing for now. Hope you enjoy these above and send me some of your favourites. I think I prefer reading blogs to reading books. Ooh that's a big statement eh... I do.
Play safe kids.

Five Things on a Friday #18
Friday, 4 May 2012
Hooray! I'm actually doing this post on a Friday. Yippee!!
Now, here goes...
1) The lovely weather this week. Sorry people South of the border but we've bnot had heavy rain for a while and as a bonus we've had sunshine and quite warm temperatures. Chilly today though. Last night I was even so warm i walked about the city centre with no jacket on. Wowsers.
2) This video that appeared on one of the blogs i read very day (or at least every time the author posts). it's pretty good. Have a watch and also, hop on over to Life as an Artispreneur blog. I just love it.
3)I have recently discovered another Scandinavian thriller series on BBC4. The Bridge. Set in Copenhagen and Sweden, across the bridge, there's been a murdurrrr. But why...find out when you watch it. I just love all of these thrillers. Much better than some of the dross that comes from our very own back yard. Well, not Spooks. I loved Spooks.
4) Bejewelled. The only game I play religiously on my iPhone. I've played a never ending game ever since I had my 3GS phone but had to start another one. I'm currently on 7.5 million points in the zen game. WOWSERS. I've never gotten into Angry Birds. I just don't understand and can't play it, so bejewelled suits me fine. Along with Words With Friends. Three games going at the moment. Hardly ever win. Boo. My vocabulary can't be any good! Yikes.
5) four spin classes this week. Getting into my stride again after a lil and skipping some Monday night ones. I'll be there from now on though. You betcha!

Five things on a Friday #17
Thursday, 3 May 2012
I know. It's Thursday already but I struggled to find five things last week. But he goes...
1) I had a lovely catch up and dinner with a fabulous friend I met through Twitter. @missakis she's one of the most honest, caring and funny people I know. Originally from Hungary, she now lives in London but visits Glasgow or Edinburgh regularly with work. We met I Glasgow last Thursday and had a nice meal and good old chit chat at Paperino's. The food was nice the place was nice too and what a bonus we got a 2 for 1 deal too. Result. Can't wait til our next catch up.
2) a great blog I found about two months ago. Thelifeofasingleman.blogspot.co.uk It's the tale of a thirty something divorced man and his dates since his marriage break up/divorce. It's funny and honest and the writer seems to have a knack for cliff hanger endings with each post. Go and read it from the start if you can.
3) Connor, my 2 year old nephew's sense of humour. Honestly he's the funniest little person I know. He's so quick witted and a fat little talker too. "you been at the gym Angie?" "no, it's closed" "aw I can go and open it for you" "can you?" "aye"..... Said with a dead straight face. Cute.
4) Home and Away. Yes the australian soap that now resides on channel 5. I think I must be one of the few people I know who still watches it. It's soooo good though.
5) cheap ass fake tan. Of course I use it, on occasion. Having decided that Fake Bake is far too expensive now I decided to give the cheapo stuff from Bodycare a go. £2.99 and it does the job just as good. And I'll tell you one thing. It actually makes my skin feel smoother and there's less of a honky smell from it the next day. Oh it's the St Moritz one. Obviously a St Tropez copy. Anyway, it's pretty good.
That's all folks!

Five things on a Friday #12 and #13
Friday, 30 March 2012
Ok i missed last week's Five Things post. Mostly because I had a flu thing all last week and so nothing much really happened. So i'll throw in a few extra wee snippets this week.
1) the weather! Yes, it's March but it's been like a mini summer. Mostly that means there have been long sunshiney days (of which i haven't seen much working indoors and all) as well as gorgeous sunsets and not to mention great views of the moon, venus and jupiter in close proximity. Sunday and Monday produced great clear skies and views. Even managed to see the red planet Mars. Nice.
2) talking of planets. I read a tweet from Charlie Todd mentioning that the planets were in alignment and that they (over in USA) would be able to see it around 4-5pm EST (9pm here). So I tweeted him a picture of what I could see that minuted and he Favourited it! He favourited MY tweet. Well cool. Charlie Todd in case you didn't know is part of the founder of Improv Everywhere. And in case you don't know who they are well they're responsible for the no pants day on the New York Subway. It takes place in January each year. Obviously pants in America are trousers so it's people on the subway in just their boxer shorts or pants (as we call them).
3) Charlie also gave a great Ted talk that you can view here...
4) last week I went to Ryan's primary school as they were having an open night. By the way, it's also my old primary school and my mum's and most of my family's. Anyway, they were having this open night to try to raise much needed funds for the basics. When I went in it hadn't changed and yet it felt different. The corridors felt much smaller and narrower. The main sports hall/dinner hall also seemed much tinier now that i'm older. In the main hall was a little art gallery of paintings done by each class. Primary 1 (Ryan's class) were hand prints on canvas in various colours. You could buy them for £5. My sister duly did. Very cool. We headed down to the P1 classroom so Ryan could show us where he spends most of his day. It was filled with pictures on the wall they'd drawn, there were balloons with each month written on them and below were a list of names and dates of each of their birthdays. In the back left hand corner was one computer, i'd say a good few years old. One computer for the whole class of about 20 kids. Back right hand side was the house where they can play. Front right was the painting table. Paint pots, paper etc. Nice But also on the table that night were old register books from when the school opened to the recent past. I managed to find my name in there, along with my old class mates. We found my mum and my cousins too. It was good remembering all this stuff. We were allowed to have a look at Ryan's tray too. Inside was a large white folder with his picture on the front. This was where the teacher recorded his progress and stored all his drawings and stuff. The reports were good. It suggested he felt like he always has to answer every question the teacher asks. He got a bit upset if it was wrong. But he now knows that it's ok to be wrong sometimes and she gives him more thinking time. His reading and writing are coming along a treat (we were worried a little while back) and he's very good at sums. In fact when he goes home from our house every night first thing he does is get out his book (homework) and reads or does his sums. I came away feeling good about his progress but i also felt a little bit sad about the state of the school. It's a small school with only about 100 kids. It's close to my heart and perhaps i need to think of ways I can help it get more funds... Maybe that could be my next purpose?..
5) work has been frankly shit the past few weeks. Not that actual work. I love my job and what i do but the atmosphere is pretty low due to various things. Hopefully it'll pick up again soon because it's actually a good place to work. If only the..... nah i won't say any more. But, however, I decided to give spin class a miss again on Monday and went to see Contraband at the cinema. I seem to say this all the time but i quite liked it. Mark Wahlberg is his usual self but is really quite good. And i liked Giovanni Ribisi. He's pretty intense when acting don't you think? I'd give is 3/5 on the Ange movie scale. Not an official scale, just mine.
6) if you've been reading here for a while you'll know one of my all time favourite (if not THE favourite) blogs to read is Pacing The Panic Room by Ryan Marshall and his lovely family. I've been an avid reader for about 3 years now and I've watched as his family grows and takes turns and never fails to amaze with the love the shines through in his wonderful words and pictures. Anyways Ryan was on Twitter but kinda stopped tweeting but thankfully did take up Instagram in a huge way. Both he and his wife Cole's pictures are really great. Recently Ryan started a series on Instagram called #LifewithSMS It's about their little boy LB suffers from SMS. The pictures are so great and Ryan gives an explanation about what's happening to LB in the picture. In this post Ryan gives a fuller explanation in his post An Instagram Series: Life with SMS I urge you to head over and have a read. I did not know what SMS was until I read it on his blog a while back. If nothing else you'll see that LB is a gorgeous little boy and Ryan's pictures capture moments of time that for me give a little insight on how their days are spent coping with a kid with SMS. I say coping onlt because i'm not sure what else to say because from the outside looking in they appear to cope really well and never seem to complain. The pictures are always filled with meaning and there's laughing and obvious love and brilliant little moments. There's also cool posts on jobs, Tessa Tangerine (their smiley little girl), and Ryan's own thoughts about growing a family together with Cole. I love it. Enough of me rambling. Go over and visit. You won't regret it.
7) Thornton's strawberry fondant pigs. 'nuff said. I cannot get enough of these sweets. I am a huge chocaholic and Thornton's Moments are a fave at Christmas time, especially the strawberry sweets. But then *cue angelic lah lah lahing* i stumbled upon the kids sweet section. You know the one with the little dancing bear lollipops, the mini fudge pieces and then..... the strawberry fondants pigs! As soon as i read it my mind whirred into action and thought could this be the same strawberry from the Moments box?! YES IT COULD. It's all I can do to get into own of a weekend and purchase my 5 for £3. They're sooooo tasty. I'll be a piggy too if i don't stop eating them though! oink.
8) I bought a nice cute little summer outfit from Zara last week. I say summer but it's actually black shorts and two very smart drop hem t-shirts, one black one white. Classic shades. I cannot wait to wear them *crosses fingers and prays for good weather this year*.
And that my friends is all we've got time for just now.

Top Picks from 2011
Tuesday, 3 January 2012
Since 2011 is over i thought i'd take a loot back and list a few things that i absolutely loved from then. Yes, it's another list and no, i'm not sure how long this list is going to be. And yes, it will be a bit picture heavy too.
So...
* iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4S.
Literally could not live without my phone now. Not for the reason we usually have a phone (to call people) because no one EVER phones me on it. Although i did get a nice surprise phone call the other day from someone who was just about to jet off on holiday. That was particularly nice. No, i use it mostly for the internets. The usual Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Words with fricking Friends. Frankly i could not live without a phone. End of. My trusty 3GS saw me through two years without so much as a slight glitch. The quality of the 4S is more superior and aside from the stupid data usage scandal(!), i actually do LOVE it. That is no exaggeration. I can hear folk groaning at reading this but hey, we all have our things we love don't we.
* Instagram.
I know some folk have only just cottoned on to Instagram [you know the type. The social media luvvies who always seem to be 3 weeks behind on the latest thing! Would you trust anything you read from them?.. No, me neither]. Anyway, some folk have only just cottoned on to the fact that Instagram deserves it's title as App of the year on iTunes (probably the only reason they cottoned on to it). I was an early adopter having posted my first photo on 15th October 2010. And i know this because I got this cool little badge from Statigram (that i run alongside Instagram). It's full of cool stats about your Instagram stream.
What I love about Instagram is that you can see a shot, take the shot, enhance it with a filter if you want and upload the photo and share to the web all within a matter of a few minutes. Seconds even but i'll stick with minutes. The filters are basic and cool, there's enough for now. There's a great community feel. I follow Instagrammers from all over the world. I love seeing photos and lives from the perspectives of these people. It's grand. Take a look.
* blogs.
I've discovered loads of new blogs this year and i'm going to list them below. A list within a list. These have been keeping me entertained all year. Thank you Bloggers!
Vivianna Does Make Up - the clue is in the title. Fab young beauty blogger.
RocknRoll Bride - Kat does a fantastic blog about alternatives to the 'big white wedding' every girl is supposed to dream of. Frankly, id rather my wedding day be like one of those featured here. Fab Fab Fab.
The Daybook - lovely lovely Sidney shows us fashion a shares stories from her life with husband Tyson and new baby Ever. Such a lovely family.
Whatleydude - Whatleydude's happy place. Discovered this one back in April/May time, I think. Love the variety of posts. Some days there's the writings from his Moleskine's. Other days there's three lines of words. Always interesting and sometimes cryptic. But always a joy to read.
Pacing The Panic Room - ok, this is a cheat. I've followed this blog from Ryan Marshall for years. It's so incredibly fabulous i just can't describe it. It's honest and candid and the family are just the cutest. It's the ups and downs and he shares a lot of it right there on the page. He and Cole are also massive Instagrammers too. Hearts.
Miss Smidge - LOVE THIS BLOG. Honest, great writing. Fab recipes. Real stories from the life and times of the writer. Miss Smidge also loves shoes, which makes me happy.
* Elemis skin nourishing body lotion
does exactly what it says on the bottle. I have dry skin all over really, except my tummy, i have a really nice smooth flat tummy. But anyway this lotion sorts my dry patches out and smells lovely and clean. Like a new born baby. It's a bit on the pricey side but i'm on my second bottle from a set i got for Christmas last year and hopefully it'll last until my birthday when i might get another bottle?! someone?
* Converse trainers
Except they're not really training shoes are they. They're the comfiest guttie i've ever worn. My purple 2009 affairs were heading on their way out. The sides have started to split and the purple was feeling a little old so i decided it was time for another pair. A RED pair. I love them. Except i made the mistake of wearing them with new dark indigo and black jeans a few times and now they have that annoying faded mark on them from the colour rubbing. Grrr... Oh well, this means i can buy another pair when we're heading into spring / summer. There's bound to be a nice bright colour i can get.
* Cineworld cinema card
I've now had my card for exactly 1 year and it's been a godsend. I've seen more movies than i ever would have if i didn't have that card. Let's face it, the cinema isn't cheap so £15 a month isn't too bad. If you go to 3 movies per month you're already saving money. Oh and i only did popcorn once. Never again. it was like eating the most tasteless balls of rolled up cardboard, and that was the sweet flavoured one too. No, my munchies of choice were salt and vinegar crisps and a bag of sliced apple. Oh and a wee bottle of Irn Bru of course. Anyway, i'd recommend the card if you can afford it and like going to the cinema. Some favourite films were The Hangover Part II, Drive, Blue Valentine and 50/50. Not sure if i want to see The Iron Lady though....
* nail polish
I was never ever really into nail polish. You'd never catch me wearing scarlet red nails... until this year. In particular, the summer gone. I suddenly become more than just a pale Rimmel French ivory girl and ventured into yellow Mimosa from Chanel, bright pink strawberry margarita from OPI and even Rainbow collection glitter top coat too.
It's fun and certainly can brighten up your day when you've got nice nails. It depends what mood i'm in too. Some days i'm all about the nudes, others the reds and lately i've even headed towards the nearly blacks. Brave of me. But i'm not buying any more. I bought some more from a great eBay shop (US) which sells all the top brands (OPI, Essie, China Glaze) much cheaper and they were delivered within a week. They're at least 50% cheaper than here and that includes delivery. Pretty good but i have to stop. As you can see there's not many colours i don't have. Oops.
Anyway that's all for now i think folks. What were your top picks from 2011?

I love seeing photos and lives from the perspectives of these people. It's grand. Take a look.
* blogs.
It's a bit on the pricey side but i'm on my second bottle from a set i got for Christmas last year and hopefully it'll last until my birthday when i might get another bottle?! someone?
* Converse trainers
* Cineworld cinema card
* nail polish

Five Things...
Friday, 30 December 2011
So I opened up twitter this morning and there was the usual mix of morning/breakfast/exercise/travel/weather tweets. If you can navigate your way through this river of greige, you can always find a few gems hidden. Like, there was also the much tweeted link to the little ditty played by Zoe Dechanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. I decided to watch it and it was sweet and nice. I've followed both people here, well over on Twitter, for a while. They're quite good value.
In addition there was a post over here by @Whatleydude. Have a read. I decided that I'd try the five things list on this blog, after all, yesterday in my Mission 2012 post I did say that I'd like to get this blog going again, make it huge, and we all know I like a list! So here it is... Except it's not quite five things, it's from the past year so it'll be a little longer than five. Next week will be the five things list. Ok enough. Let's go...
So that's a few of my most memorable good things from the past year. Next week it'll be just five things from the week. It'll hopefully be a regular post. If not, shout at me!

So here it is... Except it's not quite five things, it's from the past year so it'll be a little longer than five. Next week will be the five things list. Ok enough. Let's go...
- Multicolour trousers - mostly from Topshop. Awesome.
- Ryan starting school and getting on fine, what a relief.
- Meeting Miss Laura Woods. An amazing person and friend. Also on that same trip south in February I met lots of Twitter people who really we're lovely. It can happen.
- Getting fitter and losing weight.
- Hello size 8 little black dress. Okay dresses. Plural. I bought two!
- Three beaches in one day with Surfpunkian. Awesome awesome day. Thanks dude.
- Finally meeting MisAKis. Fun, bubbly and lots of great stories about social media 'darlings'. Haha laughed so much.
- My first Illegal Jack's. I'll be back. I did. A few times.
- Loving painting my nails. With glitter! Me! Glitter! WOWSERS how times have changed.
- Cycling 55 miles from Glasgow to Edinburgh. Fantastic feeling.
- Giving blood for the first time.
- Becoming unofficial aunty to baby Kai. Gorgeous.
- Weekend cinema trips. A sanctuary. The cineworld card has been a godsend for me.
- Favourite movies: Drive. Sherlock Holmes. 50/50. The Hangover part II (obviously).
- Elemis skin nourishing body cream. Smells gorgeous and keeps my skin soft and err nourished.
- Twitter. My love affair with it will never end. Not for the foreseeable future anyways.
- Baking cupcakes. Several good attempts.
- Seeing brilliant Twitter friend @pyllon finish one of his races. I was going to say "for the first time" but what I'd mean is I saw him race for the first time. He's raced loads. And done very well, thank you very much. These are no ordinary races, oh no, they're across tracked up and down hills and are usually never any less than about 50 miles!! No mean feat.
- Meeting Miss Karlie MacGregor. A wonderful person. Damn straight.
- My love of spin bike class. I can't miss any now. Except I am right at this minute missing one, but you get what I mean.
- Seeing Mr Neil Fox (@drgonzolives) perform at the Edinburgh Festival with his fab Great Brain Robbery comedy mates. What a laugh!
- Finding fabulous blogs to read, like Whatleydude's. I've nearly finished reading all the away back James!
- New Red Converse. Only my second pair in two years. I think I deserve another and I think I found them today!
- Buying my iPad 2. Finally. Although it may be going on sale soon. I love it but... The screen thing still irks me a little.
- The joy I had doing my walk with Instagram back in October. Me, my iPhone and Instagram. Walking around Edinburgh. Good day.
- Taking the boys and my sister to the National Museum in Edinburgh. They had a ball.
- Seeing Kings of Leon at Murrayfield in June. Sounded just like the cd. Great gig.
- The Killing (Danish version). I love that programme!
- My trip to London in April. Three days exploring that fab city. The weather was brilliant too. I'll be back.
- My trip to Philadelphia in August. Ok ok it wasn't the real Philadelphia but Glasgow. The film set for a new Brad Pitt movie. Hope it's good when it comes out.
So that's a few of my most memorable good things from the past year. Next week it'll be just five things from the week. It'll hopefully be a regular post. If not, shout at me!

A Blog Each Day in March
Friday, 1 April 2011
pril first marks then end of my personal blog each day in March challenge. I did it. I stuck to it. Granted, some days were light on the words but then you're probably glad of that.What have i learned? Well it's given me the impetus to keep blogging regularly so i shall be. Maybe not every day but every other day, certainly. I've learned that I should keep two posts as a back-up as there were a few days i had to call on help for topic ideas. I actually quite liked the challenge. I was dreading it a bit when i started but i did find stuff to blog about each day.
During this time i was trying to think if my blog fitted into any category, because recently I've found lots of nice blogs to read which are mostly fashion ones. And i definitely don't fit into that bracket - fashion. I definitely don't want to be a social meeja blog. Can you imagine? Regurgitating what everyone else is writing about that day and trying to be the first to hit the publish button. No thank you. Although I'll probably never shut up about Twitter and this here Blogger platform as I'm sure big things are gonna happen soon.
No, I think I can only say that my blog is about me and all aspects of my life and I'm not sure what category that fits into. Actually, I don't want to fit into a category and be labelled. Labelling is limiting. I'll just be me, it's all i can be and hope that you stick around for the journey.
In other news, it's been two years, yes TWO WHOLE YEARS since the trek to Nepal. I'll have more to say on that soon and a book about it. Yes, you heard right. A book about the trek and everyone on it. Stay tuned.
In other 'other news', I got an interesting email from someone the other day about another blog i write for. I am being invited somewhere! I will have details from said person soon. It's all very exciting and intriguing and I'm not sure I'm going yet (I want to wait to see what it's all about), but as you know, I will blog about it. If i'm allowed.
Peace out

Blogging Challenge
Tuesday, 29 March 2011
As the month of March draws to a close i'm wondering what the worth is in posting every day. I'm starting to really run out of ideas for blog posts. You might be able to tell...
I think from my little challenge to myself I'm realising that for me blogging every day doesn't work. However, I do think an every other day post will be fine so i'm going to try to do that after March and onwards. I've not written a list of potential post titles down yet but I'll start. To generate ideas and get the juices flowing. Because as you know, this blog isn't about preaching at you about social media, since every one and their aunty does that, no this blog is about me and my journey through life. That means sometimes there'll be good days and sometimes there'll be bad days but all posts are genuine and real. That is what I'm most proud of. Keeping it real in a sea of fakery that exists out there.
I happened upon someone today on Twitter who is running a blogger meet up in Edinburgh. She is @miss_smidge and her blog is here. I'd really lke to go along to one of those. Anybody been? Let me know.
Sorry, short and sweet post today.

Thursday Three - Favourite Blogs
Thursday, 17 February 2011
Waaaaahh! Why did I have to suggest this topic? I have more than three favourite blogs that i read regularly. So I'll recap on blogs that i've already mentioned here before but add in three of my favourite new blogs that have been recent discoveries of mine.That okay? Good!
Recaps:.....
PTC's outdoor blog has long been one of my first stops of a morning. All things outdoors; gear, wonderful pictures, great words and best of all, by my friend. Lately I've been feeling guilty though as I've not been into the great outdoors for months. But spring is nearly here. We'll get out on the bikes soon.
Pacing The Panic Room. Another favourite of mine. Written by Ryan and featuring his fantastical photos and great stories of family life and being a photographer. Awesome. I urge you to click on over once, if only to see the gorgeous little Tessa Tangerine.
Three new discoveries
Rock n Roll Bride
Wowsers!! I just love this blog. Written by the lovely pink-haired lady called Kat. You might guess it's about weddings. Rock n Roll weddings. Lovely quirky weddings. The kinds of weddings i'd like if I were to be married. Dresses, cakes, competitions, handmade goodies and best of all great photos of cool couples. A must-see for the girlies.
The Daybook
Just discovered this blog the other day via a link on Pinterest and already I'm in love with it. Written by Sidney who looks to be one very cool young lady. Her fashion style is fantastic. I wish I could have her style. Who knows I may pick up a few tip along the way. This may be one for the girlies too. Sorry guys! Oh, but her husband does post on it every now and again i gather so maybe you too can pick up some tips. I don't know why i like it because I've never been that into fashion or personal style, maybe its her big friendly smile that draws you in. Whatever it is I like it.
Oh goodness me i can't decide between these two so i'm adding them both in. I've followed them on Twitter for a little while now too and i just love these ladies' blogs.
Life as an Artistpreneur
and
And Kathleen
Mostly I look at the pictures but i love to read how other people spend their days whilst working for themselves. I like that these are two women who are fairly successful and yet not showy or anything like that. They seem very lovely.
I've just realised that the new blogs i've chosen are blogs written by women. Sassy classy and successful women. Is this my subconscious kicking in and looking for tips? Hope so!
I hope you all take a little trip over and check out these blogs. My descriptions are very sparse but you'll get a better idea if you click on over and visit them. Go now!
